I was at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago and I spotted a roll top desk. It was exactly what I had been looking for to liven up my home. A roll top desk has a sense of style all its own and few pieces of furniture could compete with such a classic. I decided that I had to have it and immediately approached the owner with an offer. He was happy to accept it and we, with the help of his son, got it lifted and safely packed into my van. My own son and husband will be thrilled to lift in out when I get home (I am sure about it).
When I reached the driveway I left the desk to take a look around my house to find a spot for it that would benefit from such a beautiful piece of furniture. I wanted a spot that had a lot of natural light but the room would need to be big enough to fit the desk as well. I found it; the perfect spot was waiting impatiently in the spare bedroom. This would be a great spot for the roll top desk and it had a large window that was facing east. The r oom was only used a few times a year when we had a get together so I figured that it was a perfect room for it.
I helped to supervise as my son and husband carefully moved the desk through the front door and up the stairs and into the spare room. As they set it down I know for sure that this was the perfect place for the roll top desk. There was just something that told me that this desk belonged in this room.
I awake every morning and still to this day get excited to go to my antique roll top desk to get some work done. The sun shines through the large window and gives enough brilliant light to see without turning on any lights. This is my new favorite room, my get away. When I need to concentrate and get some work done I just take a seat in my roll top desk. It is the best find I have ever found. I still remember the day that I found the desk and will remember it every time I sit down in front of it.
A roll top desk can be an incredible addition to your home. No other piece of furniture can compare to an antique roll top desk because of its stylish and classic look.
