These are just few of the things you experience when you allow clutter to rule your life. A disorganized work area does not only hinder you from being productive. Here are few of the better ways to o rganize your home desk:

Make sure to place your home office desk in an area where you feel good and stimulated to work. Keep a spacious working surface that allows you to conveniently carry on with your tasks and various paper works. Position your computer in such a way that you will not have to strain to reach the keyboard and where the monitor is not against the light. Make sure you are given enough space to freely move your home office chair whenever you need to change positions. You should be able to move around to easily access file cabinets, office equipments, and shelves. Arrange furniture and office equipments in a convenient manner wherein you have easy access to important items you will need when working. Be sure that the lay-out of your home office design enables you to maximize what little space you can use for your home office. Keep supplies and documents on their proper places. Designate a place like a drawer or separate container where you can keep pens, clips, markers, and other office supplies. Also provide enough storage area where you can place important files and documents. Develop a filing system that allows you better organization wherein you can easily locate whatever document you need for your business. Clear your desk from any unnecessary mess. Refrain from putting personal belongings and other items atop your home office desk. Doing this allows you to maximize your work space as well as free you from pointless distractions while working. Set a date when you will dispose of irrelevant papers that have piled up in your home office. Do this regularly to avoid gathering piles of documents that are actually not relevant anymore for your work. Also make it a habit to clean up your desk a few minutes before you stop working. You can expect great rewards in keeping your home office desk clean and clutter free. All it takes is discipline to make your desk as orderly as possible.
